When I first saw this figure, I had the image of Spawn flash through my mind. Probably because of the gauntlets of course, but also something in the posture, the silhouette and the bestial side of the character. The choice of certain colors was also oriented towards this image in memory.
I first thought of integrating it as a half-giant but the proportions did not match. Although more imposing than the average, the figurine does not have the necessary size. However, the violent aspect encourages me to place it as a punctual enemy whose arrival is feared. Perhaps during a random event or even, why not, the objective of a scenario.
It was found for the game Dark Age under the reference “Frenzied” it seems to me. And the name fits perfectly with the mouth forced open, the huge razor-sharp fists and the demented stare. We imagine him carefree as the terrible result of a brutal life in the arenas, martyred as a slave or simply driven mad by the Athas sun. Ideal for Dark sun therefore.
And to think that I have the same figure in a female version…

Lorsque j’ai vu cette figurine pour la première fois, j’ai eu l’image de Spawn qui m’a traversé l’esprit. Sans doute à cause des gantelets bien sûr, mais aussi quelque chose dans la posture, la silhouette et le côté bestial du personnage. Le choix de certaines couleurs a également été orienté vis-à-vis de cette image en mémoire.
J’ai d’abord pensé à l’intégrer comme demi-géant mais les proportions ne collaient pas. Bien que plus imposante que la moyenne, la figurine n’a pas la taille nécessaire. Toutefois, l’aspect violent m’incite à la placer comme un ennemi ponctuel dont on redoute la venue. Peut-être lors d’un événement aléatoire ou même, pourquoi pas, l’objectif d’un scénario.
On la trouvait pour le jeu Dark Age sous la référence “Frenzied ” il me semble. Et le nom est parfaitement adapté avec la bouche forcée à rester ouverte, les énormes rasoirs de poings et le regard dément. On l’imagine sans souci comme le terrible résultat d’une vie brutale au sein des arènes, martyrisé comme esclave ou simplement rendu fou par le soleil d’Athas. Idéale pour Dark sun donc.
Et dire que j’ai la même figurine en version féminine …
